A Guide to Choosing Your Wedding Music

Congratulations on your engagement and thank you for considering me as your wedding singer! This is such an exciting time for you and I’d be delighted to help guide you in the process of choosing your wedding music and structuring the layout of your ceremony.

For ceremonies, whether it’s in a church or a civil ceremony, I can perform a wide variety of different styles and genres.  Choose from the extensive song lists for ceremony and drinks reception, or let me know if you have something in mind that isn’t on the list and I’d be happy to learn it (given enough notice!)  I’m generally accompanied by acoustic guitar or piano (with the option of adding more instruments) and work with some of the best and most in demand instrumental players in the business.  We can incorporate multiple styles into your ceremony, including pop and current hits, soul, gospel, classical, religious hymns, jazz and folk/traditional Irish. Get in touch here for quotes, packages and more info on the different musical packages I offer.

“Natalie, thank you so much for your beautiful singing and for learning our song. I just loved sitting and listening to you, and we had so many of our guests complementing your voice too. And of course for your excellent advice about arranging songs…” - Aisling and Max, Doora, Co. Clare, 2019

When it comes down the process of actually selecting songs and pieces, I have always loved the idea of filling a ceremony with lots of types of music, from modern pop songs and classical and operatic arias, to classic songs from the movies to old Irish folk tunes – accompanied by your instruments of choice or in harmony with another singer or sung a capella, there is a wealth of music to choose from!
You can have Nella Fantasia as an elegant bridal entrance piece along with gospel spirituals like Amazing Grace, the bluegrass Down in the River to Pray, the vintage jazzy Dream a Little Dream of Me and At Last or a modern hit like Bruno Mars’ Treasure… all in one ceremony! Choosing songs that really mean something to you both as a couple, no matter how left of centre it might be, will ensure you have a ceremony full of special moments and memories to be cherished for years to come.

“It was amazing to have Natalie at our wedding and a lot of our guests commented on how lovely her voice was. We asked her to sing two songs she had not heard of before, which are family favourites, and her versions were perfect!” - Erin and Robert, Monkstown, Dublin, 2019

Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you based and do you travel?
I'm based in south Dublin but can travel nationwide. If your venue is outside of Dublin there will be a travel/fuel fee added to the overall cost.

How much do you charge?
Prices begin at €550 for ceremony music for myself and one accompanying musician but please get in touch via the Contact form or by email at natalieturnermusic@gmail.com for a personalised quote and package deals.

Do I have to pay a deposit?
A booking deposit (usually €50) is required to secure your date.

Do you have your own equipment?
Yes, I provide full PA and all equipment with microphones, instruments etc.

What time do you arrive at?
I prefer to arrive at least 1 to 1.5 hours before your wedding ceremony to ensure full setup, positioning within church or venue and sound check with musicians.

When should I choose my songs for the ceremony?
Ideally a couple of months in advance and no later than 3 weeks beforehand! If I am learning any new songs for your wedding, this will give me adequate learning and rehearsal time.

When is the payment due?
Payment is due on the day itself and before the ceremony so as not to disrupt photos being taken as you leave the church or ceremony room! Usually it's best to allocate this job to the best man or groomsman. Or if you prefer to have it out of the way you can transfer the balance a few days beforehand.

Do you provide music packages?
I do indeed! Just get in touch and let me know what you're looking for and I'd be happy to put something together for you.

What services do you offer?
I can provide music for your full wedding day, as well as corporate events, private functions, birthday parties and any special event!
     - Ceremony Music (Church, Civil, Humanist, Spiritual)
    - Pre-Dinner Drinks Reception Music
     - Evening Party/After Dinner Music
    - Wedding Day 2/BBQ/Pub Music

Can you learn my favourite song or songs that are not on your list?
Of course! All I ask is that you let me know your song choices no later than 3 weeks in advance of your wedding.

Can I come and see you perform live?
Yes, I regularly perform around the country and in Dublin's top venues with several different bands, including with my jazz/swing/soul duo When You're Smiling and the Dublin Gospel Choir.  Follow me on Facebook and Instagram for gig news and updates!
